Mary J Bllige "You Remind Me" (Remix)/"Real Love"

God bless the early 90s..
Another addition to the New Jack Swing,
Miss Queen of Hip-Hop Soul herself from her debut album "What's the 411" (1992)
"You Remind Me" - Remix feat Greg Nice
"Real Love" hit track off the albumn

Mary J Blige is one of those singers who had fabulous albums up to the 1990s and then became abit too commercial or popish. I think her best albums are the first "What's the 411" - which is full of Hip-Hop Soul in the New Jack Swing era,
"My Life"-2nd Albumn which she got more soulful RnB
"Share My World" -3rd Albumn which is her peak soulful real Soul period
and then it just kinda died out, the soul in her voice as well as her music.

I must say I like the original version of this song better but well, this was all I could find.
Whichever the case this is great - in this video, you can see these days, we thought women in Huge Ice Hockey Uniforms were sexy... along with tight spandex

Real Love was probably the biggest hit off this albumn and really was the song that introduced "Hip-Hop Soul" into the world

I've changed this in to the live version, recent telly show I presume...

Heavy D & the Boyz "Blue Funk"

Heavy D and the Boyz
performed mostly in the 1980s up to the 1990s
brought different styles into rap.. I think in a classic way
Now that we found love, was typically a New Jack Swing style
While this song "Blue Funk" title song from the albumn Blue Funk-1992 Uptown Records, also represent the cool hiphop sounds of the 90s. Also I think this song represents the jazzy sounds you can add onto hiphop/rap..
